Stainless steel hydraulic fittings consist mainly of chromium (16–18%), nickel (8–12%), and molybdenum (2–3%), with iron as the base metal. This makes them excellent in corrosion resistance and durability. Such fittings usually have a tensile strength of about 515 MPa and yield strength of about 205 MPa. They have good elongation, toughness, and fatigue resistance, hence are ideal for severe, high-pressure, and high-temperature applications. Moreover, their non-magnetic character in the annealed state increases their performance and versatility in most hydraulic applications.
