Stainless Steel 316 Instrumentation Tube Fittings consist mainly of chromium (16–18%), nickel (10–14%), and molybdenum (2–3%) with iron as the base metal. This alloy provides better resistance to corrosion, particularly in marine and chloride environments. SS 316, mechanically, has tensile strength approximately 515 MPa and yield strength of 205 MPa. The alloy shows great ductility, toughness, and durability even at high temperatures. Hardness (Brinell) of the alloy is between 149 and 217 HB, which provides longevity and resistance to deformation pressure in heavy-duty applications.
