Stainless Steel 321 Ball Valves consist largely of iron, the major alloying components being 17–19% chromium, 9–12% nickel, and titanium in a quantity at least five times more than carbon content to stabilize the structure. This particular composition enhances resistance to intergranular corrosion and high-temperature oxidation. The material provides a tensile strength of around 75,000 psi (515 MPa), yield strength of about 30,000 psi (205 MPa), and very good creep resistance. SS 321 possesses toughness and mechanical properties at elevated temperatures, and hence it is ideal for applications with thermal cycling and high heat exposure.
