Stainless steel condensate pots are generally made with SS 304 or SS 316 grades, having components like chromium (18–20%), nickel (8–12%), and traces of manganese and silicon. These alloys provide superior corrosion resistance and mechanical strength with tensile strength of 515–620 MPa and yield strength of 205–310 MPa. They are found to have good ductility with elongation of about 40% and Brinell hardness of around 150–200 HB. They provide these properties such that the condensate pots can sustain high pressure, temperature fluctuation, and corrosive conditions efficiently.
